Spring Cleanup Checklist for Tri-State Homeowners

The work you do in March sets up your entire growing season. Here is the spring checklist we run on Tri-State properties before the grass really takes off.

  • Clear leaves, sticks, and winter debris so light and air reach the soil.
  • Cut back perennials and ornamental grasses before new growth starts.
  • Edge and re-define beds for a clean, finished look.
  • Apply a pre-emergent to stop crabgrass before it germinates.
  • Service or sharpen your mower blade for a clean first cut.
  • Refresh mulch to lock in moisture and hold back weeds.

Timing the first mow

Wait until the grass is actively growing and the ground is dry enough to walk without leaving prints. Mowing wet, dormant turf does more harm than good.

Short on weekends?

This is exactly the kind of seasonal work our maintenance plans cover, so your year starts right without eating up your Saturdays.
